The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria [MMWG] has described as unfounded, malicious and highly condemnable the allegation against a well-known islamic philantropist and outstanding Accounting Professional based in Lagos….Dr. A.W.A. Ibrahim.
It was alledgedly reported that a viral video circulated some days ago accused Dr. A.W.A Ibrahim of sponsoring some rampaging bandits in Nigeria.
This allegation is not only shocking and untrue but a well-calculated attempt by some faceless individuals to smear the integrity and high reputation of a patriotic Nigerian who has spent all his life in serving God and humanity at large.
In a strongly-worded Press Statement issued today jointly signed by the National Coordinator of the Group Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi and the National Secretary Dr. Nasir Balogun, the Group wondered how such a fine gentleman, great philanthropist from Offa in Kwara State who is well-known to be striving on a good business as a Chartered Accountant of high repute with offices across the Country, could be so maligned out of sheer envy, hatred for his Islamic philantropism and welfarism package for humanity at large.
The Media Group warned that purveyors of fake-news, falsehood and pure blackmail against individuals and groups of people should not be allowed to continue without being checked…
According to the Group, this could be done by Security Agencies standing firm to arrest those involved and get them prosecuted as they cannot prove their spurious allegations with their main goal to be senseless character-assassination…
The Group referred to the recent ‘christian genocide false alarm’ raised in some quarters recently and maintained that false allegation are getting to crescendo with Muslim Personalities being blackmailed by some unpatriotic elements in the Country so as to implicate their perceived enemies – stating further and it is only by enforcing the extant laws on falsehood, malicious and false propaganda on violators in Nigeria can get rid of irresponsible people using different Media platforms especially the social media to blackmail innocent people unjustifiably
The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria therefore described Dr. A.W.A Ibrahim – as astute holder of academic P.hd in Managelent Sciences in addition being a Distinguished Fellow of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria [ICAN] for the past 30 years and who has contributed to the greatness of Nigeria in various ways including using his profession as a global Chartered Accountant to develop many Nigerians in various academic fields..
The Media Group expressed its sound belief in the high integrity, incredible good character and outstanding personal and public relations of Dr. A.W.A Ibrahim, whom it said his integrity cannot be smeared or rubbished by irresponsible citizens, no matter how devilished they are…pointing out that is like ‘using evil to pay back the good’ which Dr. A.W.A Ibrahim has done for the people.
The Group also recalled many of his good deeds especially his outstanding financial support to large number of Organizations and individuals across the Country including his financial assistance to the Kwara State Area Unit of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria [MSSN] to hold the Northern Zonal Higher Institutions Convention [NHICON] which took place in Ilorin Kwara State two years ago…
The Group stated that against the backdrop of alledged christian genocide syndrome falsely stated by President Donald Trump of America, a number of disgruntled elements in christian faith in Nigeria and abroad, are blackmailing notable muslims in Nigeria in-order for possible blacklisting by America…
The Group maintained that their cruel action will surely destroy them instead of Dr. A.W.A Ibrahim they are targetting…
MMWG therefore appealed to Nigerian Muslims in this trying period to be calm, peaceful and prayerful adding that evil-doers and unpatriotic elements will soon face the wrath of Almighty Allah.
As for true christians who are dutiful and believed in the unity of the Nigerian people irrespective of faith, tribe or cultural differences, the Group promised them of Allah abundant protection and success – pointing out that the falsehood and blackmail spread about Dr. A.W.A. Ibrahim emanated from the unpatriotic elements to achieve their pre-meditated evil machinations – calling on Federal and State Lawmakers to move from rhetoric to practicality in reforming our laws dealing with blackmail, falsehood and fake-news in-order to purnish offenders adequately.
Treating these offences only as civil offences would not attract the desirable purnishment that could curb the irresponsible false propaganda against innocent people, the Group maintained.
