The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria has described the demise of Sheikh Hafeez Abu at the age of 101 as a great loss not only to Nigeria but the entire black race.
This was contained in a message of condolence sent to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and deceased family by the Group and signed by the National Coordinator of the Group Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim.
The Group said Late Sheikh Abu contributed to the educational development of this Country and the entire African Continent.
As one of the pioneer Members of Panel of Judges in the National Qur’an Recitation Competition organised by Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University Sokoto for past 45 years, the Group said Late Baba Adinni of Lagos would for long be remembered for his contribution to spiritual development of the youth and elders in Nigeria.
The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria admonished Islamic Scholars of today to emulate the finest quality of contentment, integrity, transparency and accountability which the Group noted are very rare in the Nigerian Society of today.
Though his death has created a vacuum too difficult to feel, the Group said it would continue to pray for better deals from Muslim Leaders and Scholars of today who need to do more to convince their followers that they are leading by example.
The Group finally prayed for Al-Jannatul-Firdaous for the departed Sheikh Hafeez Ashamu Abu who they said lived a pious life from beginning to the end, urging all his family members to follow his footsteps…. END
