NATION’S REVENUE ALLOCATION & DISTRIBUTION
Arising from the economic gains of petrol subsidy withdrawal since June 2023, the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, called for ploughing the gains into areas of high productivity such as increased power generation and distribution to consumers including manufacturing industries, reduction of poverty through Government purchase and sale of food items at reduced costs to the masses and productive agriciltural revolution – pointing out that distributing the bulk of Nation’s monthly generated revenues to the 36 States and FCT as total waste as most State Governors appears to be mismanaging the increased allocation being given to them.
INJUSTICE & INSECURITY IN THE PLATEAU
MMWG also accused the Plateau State Government of promoting insecurity by using its Ministry of Justice to frustrate prosecution of serious criminal offences featuring loss of innocent lives.
The Group pointed to the murder of Rtd Major-General Alkali seven years ago of which the suspects have been granted bail.
Same according to the Group has been reported of 13 Wedding Guests that were murdered in Mangu Local Government of the State few weeks ago, whose assailants were reportedly granted bail by a Plateau State High Court.
In both cases according to the Group, the DPP of the State’s Ministry of Justice have alledgedly been perverting cause of justice by recommending bail for murder cases; quering when murder cases became a bailable offence in the Nigerian Legal System!
MMWG also accused Plateau State Government of surpressing justice in the case of the killing of members of Ondo State muslim delegation in Jos while returning from Bauchi after Annual Dhikr with Sheikh Tahir Bauchi – wondering why Plateau State has become so notorious for killing people both indigenes, travellers and guests.
The Group called on the Federal Ministry of Justice and NJC to probe all these criminal cases and try to know how Plateau State Government has been handling them
