The Supreme Court of Nigeria has been commended for the confirmation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory at the Presidential Polls held early this year.
In a News Release jointly signed by the National Coordinator of the Group Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim and the National Secretary Dr. Nasir Balogun, the Group described the judgement as well- articulated and well-delivered considering the evidence before the Apex Court.
The Islamic Body maintained that with the trust and confidence that patriotic Nigerians have in the Judiciary and the INEC that conducted the last General Election, there was no way the judgement would have been otherwise; as what brings victory to winners are free and fair election and securing majority of lawful votes spread across the Federation; stating further that victory not secured at the polls cannot be obtained in any Tribunal or Court of Law.
While congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his well-deserved victory at the polls and Courts of Law, the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria admonished the President to focus on the reversing the worsening trend of Naira to other foreign currencies, the high cost of food prices, industrialisation strategy and fixing of power as energy is the source of growth in any developing economy. While appealing to all citizens of Nigeria to bear with the new Administration, it specifically called on religious leaders and their followers in Nigeria to pray fervently and constantly for the success of Tinubu Administration to win very soon the battle against insecurity and poverty in this Country.
