The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG), has called on the United Nation Security Council to stop Israel from its further destruction in Gaza, Jerusalem and all the remaining Palestinian Territories.
The Group also condemned in strong terms the Press Statement credited to Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for praying for the success of Israel against the Palestinians – saying that such a Statement from the Church is capable of misleading their followers as the current conflict is not a war between Christians and Muslims rather it is an aggression by Israel who illegally occupied Palestinian Territory and still oppressing the Palestinians over the remaining homelands where they presently occupied.
Explaining further, the Media Group stated emphatically that Israel is not a Christian Country as the Christians in that Country are just 1.9 percent, Muslims 18 percent, Jews 73 percent while others are 1.6 percent!
MMWG queried: Do the Church Leaders who have spoken in favour of Israel know what they are talking about?
In a strongly-worded Press Statement issued today by the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria and signed by its National Coordinator Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Group stated that the leadership of CAN and RCCG, have openly embarrassed the Christians in Nigeria by their condemnable Statement, pointing-out that Muslims in Nigeria would never wished any Christian killed for whatever reason; and that Muslims know for sure that true Christians in Nigeria would never wished any Muslim killed, adding – all that had happened in the past in Nigeria in the last 10 years were not religious war but insecurity influenced by corruption, injustice, bad governance, terrorism and poverty which if properly examined could be eradicated with good policies and holistic implementation.
Commenting specifically on the renewed violence, the Group stated that the illegal occupation of Palestinian homelands by Israel, the massacre of millions of Palestinians and wanton destruction of their homes since over 70 years that the crisis began and incessant violation of all treaties and agreements meant to bring peace to the Territory is to say the least incredible and condemnable, the Group maintained.
The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria therefore called the attention of Pastor Adeboye and CAN to Mathew 5 : 9 of the Bible which states: ‘Blessed are the peace-makers, for they will be called the children of God’.
MMWG said: Instead of Pa Adeboye and CAN to be praying for Israel who are Aggressors to win, they should have obeyed the Bible injunction by praying for the return of peace by joining the patriotic citizens all over the world to condemn Israel and call on Nentanyyahu to stop the destruction of human lives that he cannot create as well as halt the humanitarian crisis he is creating out of his devilish annoyance.
Finally, MMWG welcome the Press Statement of the Patriachs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem which was issued just last Friday 13th October; condemning Israel over its carnage in Gaza – Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territory stating that the humanitarian crisis created by the new cycle of violence in the Areas was totally condemnable and should be stopped immediately.
Heads of Churches in Jerusalem and their followers are true christians who are in the ‘theatres of war’ and who knows better what is happening in area.
They are not the like of misinformed and misguided so-called Church Leaders in Nigeria who took the photographs of Justices of the Bench to pray and curse their imaginable political foes in the Church – a childish and obnoxious steps being taken by some people who called themselves christians.
The Group concluded by calling on CAN as a Body and Pastor Enoch Adeboye as a Pastor to apologise to all Nigerians for their attempt to mislead citizens of this Country over their condemnable Press Statement on Palestinian/Israeli Conflict admonishing Christian Religious Leaders to stop embarrassing themselves; instead they should seek more knowledge on happenings in the world instead of rushing to issue parochial and sentimental Press Statements that would continue to embarrass them…the Group concluded.
