
Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria has called on the Kwara State Police Command and the State Judiciary to diligently and promptly prosecute Muhammad Abdulrahman Bello who allegedly eliminating and dismembering Hafsoh Lawal.
The Group in a statement by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi in Ilorin, appealed to the Police and other security agencies in Kwara State to dig further into the matter to know the accomplices in the heinous crime
It observed that there are possibilities of those patronizing the criminal in sales of human parts could be arrested along with him for necessary prosecution and
thanked Almighty Allah for exposing the heinous criminal act of the suspect.
The Islamic Organization called on Federal and State Governments to as a matter of urgency allow the execution of past judgements.
It recalled that condemned criminals who have lost their appeals to Supreme Court numbering nearly 2000 or more are still being kept unexpectedly and fed with tax-payers money in the Correctional Centre, a situation that makes death sentences worthless in Nigeria.
The Group said the stance of some State Governors of ‘not signing death warrants’ of condemned criminals in their States is tantamount to ‘breach of the Nation’s Constitution they sworn to protect.
It advocated convocation of National Council of States’ Meeting urgently to discuss how best to execute judgement passed on all criminals condemned to death who lost their appeals to the Apex Court of the land for justice to be executed on them without further delay.
The Group bemoaned some self-styled human rights activists in Nigeria and abroad disallowing capital punishment as the laws that murderers should be condemned to death if found guilty
The Media Group called for early trial of the new suspect picked up in Ilorin by the Police over the killing of Hafsoh Lawal and charged ritualists masquerading as Islamic or Arabic Teachers to desist as the wrath of Almighty Allah would continue to fall on them.
